About the month of March 1814 Dr.Delany called all the Brothers into the Nuns community room, and there in the presence of all the nuns then in the house, told them he was leaving them a bequest of twenty pounds a year as a small token of his affectionate regard for them.

Soon after on July 9th 1814 at 2.00 a.m. Dr.Delany died in the 67th year of his age. Asked for a final blessing and a parting message for his spiritual children, his last words were, "Tell them from me to love God and live together in peace and charity." His remains are interred in the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Tullow, a church which he built and opened and blessed in 1805.

PRAYER AT DANIEL DELANY'S GRAVE

PRAYER AT DANIEL DELANY'S GRAVE

(said by all the Brothers on 8th July 2008at St.Patrick's Cemetery, Tullow)
Lord God, we thank you for our Founder, Bishop Delany
Through him you have given us, his spiritual sons,
A wonderful example of Christian living.
We pray through the intercession of Bishop Delany,
To grant us an increase of faith, courage and dedication
To labour unceasingly for the spread of your kingdom on earth.
May our lives bear witness to the faith we profess
By our special devotion to you in the most Blessed Sacrament
As exemplified in our beloved Founder.
Help us to serve you as he did sharing the joy of your love with those who come into our lives.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son
Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit
One God for ever and ever. Amen
